“These are not just promises written on paper. They represent real, tangible opportunities,” he said.

Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo has in recent days camped in the Nyanza region, engaging directly with the youth through a series of meetings.

In one of the sessions, Dr. Omollo urged members of Generation Z to seize the various empowerment initiatives rolled out by the government, rather than relying solely on the limited opportunities available in the white-collar job market.

While engaging youth across Nyanza, Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo called on them to enroll in government programs available through the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector under the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority.

"These are not just promises written on paper. They represent real, tangible opportunities," he said.

Dr. Omollo emphasized that the current administration is committed to delivering practical, people-driven solutions, noting that President Ruto’s leadership style prioritizes how national strategies impact everyday lives.

With close to one million young Kenyans entering the job market annually, competition for employment has become increasingly stiff.

The PS urged the youth to tailor their skills to align with government priority areas, explaining that projects like affordable housing and the digital superhighway are not merely infrastructure developments but major sources of employment.

"It’s about much more than just housing or connectivity. It’s a direct fight against youth unemployment," Dr. Omollo stated.

Dr. Omollo also highlighted the Social Health Authority (SHA) as a game-changing initiative within the government’s reform agenda.

"For years, families have been forced to sell assets or rely on harambees just to meet medical expenses. SHA changes that reality. If you earn, you contribute a little. If not, the government steps in—plain and simple," he explained.

He encouraged young people not only to enroll but also to champion SHA within their communities.

According to the PS, SHA is more than just a health safety net—it’s also a catalyst for job creation in areas such as community health services, telemedicine, mental health care, wellness enterprises, and digital health tech.

He further cautioned the youth against misinformation surrounding the program, urging them to remain vigilant and not be swayed by propaganda or politically motivated distortions.
